The MAC Pencilled In Collection for Spring 2015 included an assortment of lipliners, lipsticks, and lipglasses that were all made for a match! Yes, that’s right. This collection put an end to the hopeless search of finding a matching lipliner for your lipstick – or vice versa if you’re starting with a lipliner first!
- MAC Edge to Edge is a slightly cool-toned, medium-dark pink with a matte finish. It is a lip liner that is permanent in this palette: Pink It Over.
- To follow on from my 5 Mac Netural lipliners that you need in your life, I have picked my 5 most used lipliners for today’s post. I have only recently started to build a lipliner collection and as a result of this I have a wish list as long as my arm. Most of the liners I want are Mac, as I absolutely adore the texture of Mac lip liners, but there are a numb of budget liners on my list too.
MAC Edge to Edge Dupes. Here are our dupes for MAC Edge to Edge, which is a slightly cool-toned, medium-dark pink with a matte finish. It is a lip liner that is permanent in this palette: Pink It Over. Check Vanity for Dupes.
Naturally, I was drawn to one of the most popular lipliners of the bunch, “Edge to Edge.” I use the term popular because it was literally sold out after the initial release on the MAC website – even though they are all permanent colors in the MAC line.

MAC describes “Edge to Edge” as a dirty bluepink. It’s matching lipstick is MAC’s “Pink Plaid”, which has already been part of the MAC product line for quite some time. Their shade descriptions are exactly the same, which makes it easy to figure out the other lipliner/lipstick matches.
Here are swatches of “Edge to “Edge”:
Aside from being a great color, this lipliner also has amazing pigmentation and was easy to apply. It retails for $16 at MAC counters, MAC online, and other online retailers (see below for direct link).

Seeing as how brown lipsticks are trending right now, I thought I would introduce one of my new favorite lip colors – and compare it to it’s NYX dupe. Most MAC lipliners seem to have a similar color in the NYX line of lipliners, and after doing some research, word on the street is that the NYX liner in ‘Natural’ is a dupe for MAC’s ‘Stripdown’.

Personally, I don’t think these two liners are that close in color. ‘Natural’ is described as a deep-toned beige, while MAC describes ‘Stripdown’ as a creamy brown-beige.
As you’ll see from the above swatch, “Natural” definitely has more warm pink undertones, while ‘Stripdown’ is much more of a browny-beige. Both liners have great pigmentation and a similar creamy texture, making them both easy to apply.
As I’ve said in prior MAC/NYX dupe posts, the biggest difference between them is the price point. MAC lipliners run for $16, while NYX lipliners are only $3.50.
